The Kelsey family started East Valley Taekwondo in Apache Junction on May 1 of 2001. We started with 12 students total. That included the Kelsey Family. We have since grown to over 30 active students ranging in rank from new white belts to 4th degree black belt. We have 1 Master instructor and several black belt instructors. |
| East Valley Taekwondo is a family oriented school. The majority of our students
are training with several other family members. In our school we like to keep the kids and
the adults together in class. We do this to accommodate our active families. Sr. Master Kelsey is the Chief Instructor. He began his Taekwondo training in 1986 with the American Taekwondo Association. In 1988 he received his second degree black belt and was certified as an instructor. In the years since the ATA, Sr. Master Kelsey has served his time in the military with the 2nd Ranger Btn. at Ft. Lewis Washington. . |

| He continued his training the the martial arts during his military time and was introduced to some other styles of martial arts. Some of these include Modern Arnis, JKD Concepts, Ju-Jitsu grappling, and some Aikido. "We teach traditional Taekwondo with a very good understanding of our strengths and weaknesses. Master Kelsey received the title Master at the Hwa-Rang Taekwondo Federation Nationals in June of 2000. His instructor ,the President and Founder of the HTF, is 8th Degree Grand Master Pierce of Lynwood Washington. |
| Sr. Master Kelsey is a
6th degree black belt and
shares his excitement of martial arts training with his family. He is accompanied by his
wife and co-owner of the school 4th degree black belt Sarah Kelsey. They are joined
by their two children Justin and Stephanie Kelsey both 3rd degree black
belts, and last but most definitely not least would be Sabrina
Kelsey future black belt who is kicking well at 4 years old. We enjoy our training and have an extended Taekwondo Family.
